Honda Announces the Performance-Oriented 2022 Honda Civic Si

The 2022 Honda Civic Si brings similar updates as the best-selling 2022 Honda Civic Sedan, including newer dimensions, better features, and of course, improved performance. Speaking of which, the 2022 Honda Civic Si comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-liter, inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque at 1,800 rpm. The 2022 model kicks in max torque 300 rpm earlier than its predecessor, which results in faster acceleration. The engine has also been tweaked to deliver more power between the 6,000 rpm and 6,500 rpm redline.

The turbocharged engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching, borrowed from the Honda Civic Type R. You’ll also hear a better exhaust note, thanks to a newer exhaust system. The Civic Si also gets bigger 12.3-inch brake rotors at the front and 11.1-inch rotors at the rear.

As far as the exterior updates are concerned, the 2022 Civic Si features a longer wheelbase, along with a better tuned multi-link rear suspension and a stiffer chassis, based on the 2021 Honda Civic Type-R. The 2022 Honda Civic Si also gets 18-inch alloy wheels with a 10-spoke design and matte black finish. The rear end features a glossy black trunk lid spoiler that compliments the dark side mirror caps and window surrounds, while an underbody spoiler and a red Si badge on the front grille help distinguish the Si from the regular Civic.

Inside, you notice a lot of red accents, aluminum pedals, and sport seats with integrated headrests. The Civic Si gets the standard 7-inch digital driver’s cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and a Bose 12-speaker premium sound system.
