How Does the 2026 Honda CR-V Deliver Confident Performance?

The 2026 CR-V offers two distinct powertrain choices. Gas-powered models use a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb.-ft. of torque. Hybrid models pair a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, producing 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of combined torque. As a result, drivers can choose between traditional turbocharged performance and hybrid power.

For drivers who want additional traction, Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System is available across the lineup, with AWD standard on several trims. The system can automatically send torque to the wheels when traction loss is detected. Therefore, it can provide added confidence when roads become slippery or conditions change.

Furthermore, the 2026 CR-V offers four drive modes: Normal, ECON, Snow, and Sport (available). Each mode adjusts vehicle responses to suit different driving situations. Snow mode can be useful during winter conditions, while Sport mode provides a more responsive driving character. ECON, meanwhile, focuses on fuel-conscious driving.

The TrailSport Hybrid adds a more adventurous character with all-terrain tires and its two-motor hybrid system. Consequently, it gives drivers another option for exploring beyond routine city driving. Overall, evaluating the performance of the 2026 Honda CR-V means striking a balance among power, traction, efficiency, and everyday versatility.
