What is a Honda Extended Warranty?

A Honda Extended Warranty is a plan that you can purchase to cover warranty repairs on your vehicle for a specified amount of time. If you have a Honda Plus plan, you will also receive Roadside Assistance. Roadside Assistance is a 24-hour, seven-days a week service to help out in an emergency.

  • Six years or 160,000 km
  • Seven years or 160,000 km
  • Seven years or 200,000 km
  • Eight years or 200,000 km

Does my Honda vehicle come with a Honda Extended Warranty?

A Honda Extended Warranty should not be confused with a Manufacturer’s Warranty. Your vehicle may come with some warranty coverage, but it will not come with a Honda Extended Warranty. The purpose of a Honda Extended Warranty is to add to your vehicle’s standard warranty coverage.

How do I choose a Honda Extended Warranty?

You’ll want to choose your Honda Extended Warranty coverage based on how long you plan on driving your vehicle and how many miles you drive per year. For example, if you plan to keep your car for five years, but you know that you drive more than 20,000 km per year, then you may want to choose the six-year, 160,000 km option just to make sure that your warranty does not run out.

Your warranty will expire with whichever item runs out first, the time or mileage that the warranty specifies. Basically, the number of years listed is the maximum length of time for warranty coverage, but if you drive more than the average person, your warranty coverage could end sooner.
